RAG Olympics
Forget the Beijing Olympics, come join fellow students participating in this year’s RAG Olympics. It is one of RAG’s oldest projects and this year, with the help of our sponsors, we have grown the project to include an Indoor Soccer Tournament and Touch Rugby Tournament.
The Indoor Soccer Tournament will be held at Sports Centre throughout the week. We dare male and females alike to enter teams to compete. Or you could join us to watch the action each afternoon!
Dare to enter a team for one of the infamous Jammie Events held during Meridian! You can choose to rocket around upper campus in a trolley, held on Wednesday 27 February, or test your courage by throwing yourself off Jameson stairs on Thursday 28 February. The final supreme contest will be held on Friday 29 February, which is the Day of the Classics. Student endurance is tested to the limit this series of events and just to make it worthwhile we have loads of great prizes to be won at each event (even for those not brave enough to participate!)
We definitely saved the best for last, as the project culminates on Saturday 1 March with a Touch Rugby Tournament and after party. Bring family and friends and join us for a day of fun at the UCT Rugby fields. Teams will play a set of round robin matches throughout the day, and you will be entertained by the likes of top South African band Plush while exploring the interesting goodies that the stalls have to sell!
If you not exhausted after all that action then meet us at Springboks for the afterparty -doors open at 21h00. To kick start the evening Autopilot, Feedback and All Star Funk Four are providing some awesome live music before DJ Fresh joins us to help us party the night away!
Dare to be different! Dare to compete!
Come sign up teams at the RAG office, which is located on the 5th floor of the Steve Biko building, or send an email to ragolympics2008@gmail.com for more information.
