UCT RAG

The UCT RAG  & Smirnoff Big Bash, the traditional end to O-Week activities, was held at Kenilworth Racecourse on Friday 5 February from 14:00 until 24:00.

 This year’s event was an all-round success, with many more guests than previous years, and it was generally accepted that the use of the new venue was a great improvement on previous years. Unfortunately, the event was closed prematurely and this may have left party goers disgruntled. UCT RAG engages in careful planning and discussion with stakeholders including the City of Cape Town and UCT Risk Management, as well as a professional production company.  Thus, we are bound by certain rules, requirements and parameters. It is with great regret that we had to reduce the sound levels after 23:00, but were required to do so.  UCT RAG is a development organization and there is a huge focus on learning and skills development. As such, the lessons learnt from the event will be carried forward in order to further improve our upcoming events.  The RAG Chair expresses full support for the Project Manager and team that voluntarily give of their time and energy to raise money for SHAWCO.
